ACNW QuattroCross '20

Evergreen Speedway

About this event

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: This event is quite different compared to our typical autocross events.

QuattroCross 2020 - Sunday June 14th at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA

Have you ever wondered what an autocross on a banked oval raceway might be like?! Well look no further! QuattroCross 2020 is your chance to answer that question, many many times. For the ninth year, ACNW is hosting this all-day autocross event where you will challenge yourself and your car on a course that includes the banked turns of Evergreen Speedway along with portions of the facility’s figure-8 course! Only 50 drivers will be able to participate in this day of autocross fun which guarantees LOTS of runs and maximum fun!

While we are the Audi Club, we don’t require that you drive an Audi to attend this event.

If you are new to autocross, it is a wonderful way to learn car control and enjoy operating your car near its limits. This form of motorsport places strong emphasis on car handling and driver skill rather than high speeds or horsepower. Autocross is not a high-speed event, so wear and tear on your car is not as much of an issue as it can be with our lapping events. The course is made up of cones used to mark various turns and bends that are spaced at varying distances from the last. Drivers are timed one at a time from a standing start through the exit of the course, typically around one minute long. The timing equipment permits more than one car to be underway, so the groups cycle quickly and you spend less time waiting and more time driving!

Most people that attend an autocross for the first time have never attempted anything like it. Many of them come back again and again because it is just so much fun. An autocross experience is good for driver skill development and allows you to learn about how you and your car work together for a safer experience in your everyday driving on the streets and freeways.

Audi Club North America membership is not required to participant at this event.

Due to the speed of this event (50mph or less) Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs, SAVs), trucks and other high-center vehicles (CUVs) are permitted only as defined in section 2.13.1 of the Audi Club North America Driving School and Event Guidelines. Additionally, convertibles are permitted as well. Email the Event Master for clarification if you are unsure about whether your vehicle qualifies or if you have any other questions.

Of special note: PLEASE make sure and read the requirements on the next page and any subsequent email communications.  In addition, you will be expected to comply with the requirements that will be provided in documentation prior to the event.  It is imperative that you read and follow these requirements so we can conduct a safe and successful event.  This is a difficult time, and ACNW is going to be hyper-responsive to both the state and the track requirements regarding the spread of COVID-19.  We all must take responsibility for making this a low risk event.

We are structuring the event as follows:

  • The number of participants will be limited to 50. No guests will be allowed. Everyone who registers will first be placed on the waitlist. We will then confirm up to 50 people into the event in order of registration time.
  • There will be no in-car instruction. Only the driver will be allowed in the car.
  • Drivers will be split up into two groups.  While one group is driving (which means in car, waiting in line, or driving on the autocross course), the other group will be spread out fixing cones.

Driving fees for this event are $75.  Lunch is included in these fees.

If you have any questions about registration, your qualifications or anything else, send a message to the registrar or the event master Pat Martin.

Event requirements

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

ACNW has developed and put into practice a plan to prevent the spread of COVID-19, working with Evergreen Speedway and Washington state (please read the state’s additional guidance for outdoor recreation in phase 1 and phase 2 here).  What follows is a compilation of relevant requirements for QuattroCross 2020.  If you do not follow these requirements, you will be asked to leave the event with no refund:

    • COVID- 19 symptoms include fever, muscle pain, cough, headache, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, chills, or repeated shaking with chills.
    • CDC COVID-19 Symptoms/Symptoms of Coronavirus Guidelines are here.
  • All participants, staff, and event organizers may be required to undergo a health screen check prior to entering the facility at the direction of the track venue (Evergreen Speedway) or event organizer (ACNW).  This screening may involve a temperature check and a symptom and exposure questionnaire.  Screening results will remain confidential.  Participants, staff, or event organizers who exhibit signs of acute respiratory illness and/or have a fever will be sent home.  Participants, staff, and event organizers who have been exposed to someone COVID-19 positive or themselves have been tested positive must remain home for two weeks minimum and until symptom free.
  • Only drivers and staff are allowed at this event.  No friends or family members.
  • You must bring your valid driver’s license.
  • You must print out and sign the Release and Waiver of Liability form at home and bring to the event.
  • You must print out and sign the Safety Inspection Checklist from at home and bring to the event.
  • You must bring your own personal protection equipment (PPE).  This includes a cloth or disposable mask that covers your nose and mouth, and sanitizing sprays/wipes.  You must wear your mask unless you are in your car or you are shagging cones and separated from others by at least 20 feet.

  • You should wash your hands often, for 20 seconds at a time, particularly after interacting with public surfaces.  Approved hand sanitizer (e.g. 60%+ alcohol content) may be used instead.  CDC hand-washing and hand sanitizer guidelines are here.
  • No passengers are allowed in cars.
  • Grandstands and viewing areas are closed.
  • You will be required to attend an online driver meeting via Zoom at 7:00 PM on Saturday, June 13.  Attendance will be taken.  The Zoom link and instructions will be sent out via separate email to confirmed attendees.
  • The morning and afternoon driver meetings will be conducted via a megaphone.  Please drop what you are doing and pay attention to the announcements.
  • Depending on the event, access to the facility and time spent at the facility at the conclusion of the event will be limited. Participants are encouraged to leave as quickly as possible at the end of the event.  In some cases, when multiple events may be scheduled, participants are asked to leave as quickly as possible after their last run or lap. This will help facilitate a smooth transition for the next event.
  • Reporting: After the event, any participant, staff, or event organizer who tests positive for COVID-19 is required to contact the event master so contact tracing and notification can be done. Individuals who contact the event master shall remain confidential.
  • Complaints: Any complaints or issues regarding anyone, activity, or lack of protocol at the event shall be brought to the attention of the COVID-19 Coordinator or designee as soon as possible. Track officials reserve the right to revoke facility privileges or cancel the event of protocols are not being followed.

By registering for this event, you are accepting compliance with the guidelines provided by Evergreen Speedway and by ACNW.  Anyone operating outside of those guidelines will be asked to leave.  NO REFUND will be issued if you are asked to leave.

Release and Waiver of Liability:

Everyone must print out and sign the Release and Waiver of Liability form for Audi Club Northwest’s insurance coverage prior to coming into the facility.  The full text of this Release and Waiver of Liability is on the last page of the registration form, and can also be found on the ACNW's Driving School Materials page, under Adult Waiver. Two Minor Waiver options are posted there too. Please read it and contact the Event Master or Registrar prior to the event with any questions about these important documents.

Safety Inspection Policy:

Generally, ACNW requires two signatures on your Vehicle Safety Inspection Checklist form, but for this event, QuattroCross 2020, you are only required to sign on the Driver Signature line. Your signature on the form certifies that your car and you are fit for high performance driving. It is however ACNW’s expectation that your car will be inspected per the areas of emphasis on the Safety Inspection Checklist with each item checked-off in the Pre-event Inspection column. This can be something you complete yourself if you feel comfortable doing so. View the Safety Inspection Checklist here. For the full safety inspection policy and procedure, click here.

Helmets:

Approved helmets are required to be worn when on track at this event. Approved helmets include only Snell SA2010, M2010, SA2015, EA2016 or later.  Except for Snell M2010, the M (Motorcycle) and K (Karting) designators have lapsed.
